After two weeks of shocking American Idol 2012 elimination results, there is no telling what will happen this week when we find out who got voted off American Idol on Thursday. That means the top 6 remaining contestants will have to bring it hard on Wednesday night to keep the voters on their side if they want to make it to the top 5.
On American Idol 2012 Wednesday night, the top 5 remaining singers will once again sing twice during the two hours show. One of the performances will be a Queen song, the other can be any song the contestant chooses. There will also be a medley performance with original Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor. Following in the footsteps of legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury is no small feat. It should be interesting to see which contestants will rock it and which ones will fall flat.
In the American Idol 2012 top 6, there are only two guys, Phillip Phillips and Joshua Ledet, left after former favorite Colton Dixon was suddenly eliminated last week. The unexpected elimination of what many considered to be a strong frontrunner followed just a week after the odds on favorite, Jessica Sanchez, had to be saved from elimination by the judges. Although Elise Testone, Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine have all been predicted to be eliminated multiple times, they still keep managing to slide through each round with the support of their fans.
This year, obviously, the voters are feeling unpredictable and continue to defy the expectations of the judges and the media about who they will support from week to week. Thus, no one in the American Idol top 6 should be feeling comfortable this week because just about anything could happen.
On Thursday, the official tribute band Queen Extravaganza will perform “Somebody To Love” while the American Idol top 6 waits anxiously to see who will make it through to the next round. American Idol alumni Stefano Langone will also take the stage and Katy Perry will be on hand to perform her new single “Part of Me.”
